Art Lutherie & Restoration
Coming from a family of jewelers and artisans, Rodolfo Gambino was born in Cremona in 1979. He began his training at the International School of Lutherie in Cremona. At 17, he became a workshop master for cellos. He continued his training in his master's private workshop and then completed various internships with great luthiers and orchestras.
In 2018, Rodolfo Gambino set up his workshop in Lausanne. There he tunes, repairs, and restores string instruments for accomplished virtuosos as well as students from the nearby conservatory and schools such as the Menuhin Academy (Rolle, Gstaad). He also creates his own instruments, combining the rigor of classical craftsmanship with a more personal aesthetic.
Passionate about sound and material, I design each instrument as a unique work of art. Established in my workshop since 2018, I carefully select my woods to ensure exceptional resonance.
Between the tradition of the old masters and modern acoustic research, each instrument bears the mark of meticulous handwork.
